To help fulfill the “fundraising” part of our mission, BOSF raises money for beneficiaries every year. Since our founding we have given over $700,000 to local and international charities.
Folsom Street and Bearrison Street Fair
In 2026, BOSF moved under the fiscal stewardship of Folsom Street and fully focused its fundraising efforts, as a Founding Partner, with the Bearrison Street Fair. Please feel free to donate directly to Bearrison and list BOSF as your inspiration!
The inaugural Bearrison Street Fair was held on Saturday, October 23, 2021. Bearrison seeks to provide an inclusive event for all members of the adult LGBTQ+ community that promotes body liberation for all and builds a more supportive, welcoming, and inclusive bear scene by representing a diverse arena of cultures.
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Grant Fund
From 2021-2025, BOSF joined forces with The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Our fundraising efforts were connected with their own, primarily to support their extensive grant program. Please feel free to donate directly to SPI and list BOSF as your inspiration!
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc., is a 21st century order of queer nuns. Since their first appearance in San Francisco on Easter Sunday in 1979, the Sisters have been accused of "ruining it for everyone" with their habitual injection of gaiety into serious affairs, involving ourselves in human rights, political activism, and religious intolerance. The Sisters consider it their mission to "ruin" all detrimental conditions including complacency, guilt, and the inability to laugh at one’s self.
